New Entrance Lobby to Rosapenna Hotel
This was a new entrance lobby to a hotel in Donegal. Guests were unable to distinguish the existing entrance upon arrival to the hotel so the owners wanted something that would stand out but still fit in with the rest of the hotel.
The original entrance was not entirely suitable for disabled users so another requirement was to make the building accessible to all
The client source old timber beams from the Leitrim Estate which would have been the same timber that was used on the original Rosapenna Hotel which sadly burnt do
After the initial works to create a new lobby, the client wanted to enhance the overall appearance of the hotel. A new roof was provided over the original bedroom block, a stone clad extension was added to this block with a stone feature added to the gable wall of the most recent bedroom block to tie the two together. Plaster bands were created around the windows of the new bedroom block and a timber pergola provided to try and soften the overall appearance
