Extension at Rosapenna, Downings
The owners of this holiday home felt that they were not getting the most from the property. The dwelling was overlooking Sheephaven Bay towards Trá Mór but it did not take in a prominent feature of this landscape which is Muckish. Secondly, the spaces were very disconnected and didn't suit the way wanted to interact with friends and family on holiday.
The extension firstly opened up the views of Muckish by creating a new living area allowing the client to see beyond a neighboring property. The barriers between the old the new extension were then opened up to create an open plan area between the kitchen, dining and new living area. The old kitchen was then converted into a utility area. At first floor a new master bedroom was created with a large apex window looking towards Trá Mór .
Other works involved breaking two smaller bedrooms into one larger room, the creation of two en-suites and the provision of larger windows to bedrooms to take in the views
